Board Meeting Minutes – 4 January 2010

Present:

Board members: Shawn McCann, Sandi Lang, Phil Gallmeier, Mike Trabold, George Pichel,, Jim Harwood, Ben Bowen

Secretary:

Minutes from the 5 December, 2009 annual meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved.

Treasurer Report:

Treasurer’s report closing out FY 2009 was reviewed and unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s report as of January 4 2010 was reviewed. Current cash balance is $7,321.03. The report was unanimously approved.

OLD BUSINESS:

Mowing and Landscaping

Board discussed Jim Harwood’s proposal as in the approved 2010 budget for mowing and landscaping. It would include the same 7 cycles as in 2009 for $7,325. Board felt that it was a continuation of the 2009 effort and the increase from last year’s $6,800 was reasonable. Therefore board will not solicit a competing bid.

Board unanimously approved acceptance of Jim Harwood’s proposal for mowing and landscaping for 2010.

The schedule was unanimously approved

2010 Skiwatch HOA Dues

Discussed the due date of the HOA dues. Mailing will occur between 30 and 45 days before the due date of March 1, 2010.

A list of other items or requests to include in the mailing was discussed:

o Proof of liability insurance per the CC&R’s on boats used on Skiwatch lakes

o Verification that new drivers have reviewed the driver’s check list.

o E-mail address

o Current phone number

o Request feedback for lake maintenance desires on the lake maintenance blog on the Skiwatch Website.

Voted unanimously that Skiwatch HOA dues will be due March 1 2010.

Requested that Frank Harwood make sure the Lake Maintenance blog on the Skiwatch web site was operational from the main page.

Reviewed Starting Dock Budget

Jeff Harber presented his current estimate of rebuilding the starting dock on Lake 4. His estimate is $3500 which is within the budgeted $3500.

Board also signed off on final drawing of the starting dock.

Jeff Harber Request for Landscaping on Lake’s edge

Jeff Harber presented a request to cut vegetation along the outside perimeters of Lake 1, 5, and 4. The goal is to be able to see the lake while walking around the lakes. There was concern about total clearing of the 100’ swaths in the proposal.

Shawn proposed that waist high trimming be performed along 2 200’ swaths along Lake 5 to see how it would appear.

Board approved Shawn’s proposal.
